• How to configure Outlook Express to use proxy servers
Outlook Express doesn't have Internet proxy settings. So, you need additional software to configure Outlook Express to work through proxy server. You can use freeware called SocksCap.
How configure Outlook Express to work through proxy servers:
• Download SocksCap free of charge.
• Run SocksCap.
• Select File -> Settings in SocksCap menu.
• Enter proxy address in the "SOCKS Server" and proxy port in "Port" field.
• Select SOCKS Version 4 or SOCKS Version 5.
• Click OK.
• Now you should add Outlook Express to SocksCap (create Outlook Express profile):
Select File -> New in the SocksCap menu and using "Browse" button select Outlook Express
or simply click and drag Outlook Express shortcut icon into the SocksCap window and select "New application profile" (the profile name and working directory will be filled in automatically) and click "OK".
Now you should run Outlook Express from SocksCap and it will work through proxy server.
